In 2025, Ukraine’s dairy industry showed significant growth in its financial performance. According to data from the VKURSI platform, the sector’s net profit almost doubled — from 1.35 billion UAH to 2.64 billion UAH, whilst total revenue increased by 18% — to 124.4 billion UAH.

The milk market: growth and concentration

As of 2025, there are 575 companies in Ukraine whose main activities are milk processing and the production of butter and cheese. Of these, 41 companies have foreign beneficial owners.

The highest concentration of profits is found in:

  • Vinnytsia region — 15.6 billion hryvnias;
  • Kyiv — 14.6 billion hryvnia;
  • Poltava region — 13.5 billion hryvnias;
  • Cherkasy region — 10.4 billion hryvnias;
  • Kyiv Oblast — 10.2 billion hryvnias

Leaders in the dairy industry

The top 10 most profitable companies in the dairy industry in 2025 include:

  • Roshen Dairy Plant in Vinnytsia — 365.7 million hryvnias
  • Kremenchuk City Dairy Plant (‘Danone’) — 328.1 million UAH
  • Yahotyn Butter Factory — 245.1 million UAH
  • Prydniprovskyi Plant — 211.3 million UAH
  • Galicia Dairy Company — 177.6 million UAH
  • Bilozerka Agro-Industrial Group — 160.9 million UAH
  • “Terrafood” — 138.2 million UAH
  • “Lustdorf” — 127.2 million UAH
  • Andrushivka Butter and Cheese Factory — 109.4 million UAH
  • ‘Radivilivmoloko’ — 76.8 million hryvnias

The Vinnytsia-based Roshen dairy plant remains the leader in terms of profit, having increased its figures by 61%.

Trends in corporate profitability

At the end of the year, 80% of companies in the dairy sector reported an increase in profits. At the same time, some players saw a decline: Terrafood’s profits fell by 19%, whilst those of the Andrushivka Butter and Cheese Factory fell by 3%.

The most significant growth was recorded by the Kremenchuk City Dairy Plant, which increased its profit from 4.8 million hryvnias to 328 million hryvnias — a record high over the past five years.

Revenue: leadership of major players

The highest earners in 2025 were:

  • “Terrafood” — 7.5 billion hryvnia
  • Yahotyn Butter Factory — 6.44 billion hryvnias
  • “Galicia” — 6.40 billion UAH
  • “Lustdorf” — 5.65 billion hryvnia
  • Ternopil Dairy Plant — 5.46 billion UAH
  • Roshen Dairy Plant in Vinnytsia — 5.08 billion UAH
  • Danone Dnipro — 4.88 billion UAH
  • Bilozerka Agro-Industrial Group — 3.85 billion UAH
  • Prydniprovsky Plant — 3.68 billion hryvnia
  • Andrushivka Butter and Cheese Factory — 3.37 billion UAH  

In total, 8 out of 10 companies feature in both the revenue and profit rankings, which is indicative of effective cost management.

Companies with a turnover of over 1 billion hryvnia

Separately, analysts have highlighted companies in the dairy sector that generated over 1 billion hryvnia in revenue in 2025. This list includes:

  • Kremenchuk City Dairy Plant — 3.18 billion hryvnias
  • Radivilivmoloko — 2.66 billion UAH
  • Imperial Plus — 2.62 billion UAH
  • B.MK — 2.51 billion UAH
  • Yuriy — 2.50 billion hryvnia
  • Pyriatyn Cheese Factory — 2.04 billion hryvnias
  • Lactalis-Mykolaiv — 2.02 billion UAH
  • Molochny Dom — 1.98 billion UAH

The role of large groups

Large corporate groups account for a significant share of the market. Companies belonging to the Terra Food, Dairy Alliance, Lactalis and Danone groups, each with revenue exceeding 1 billion UAH, collectively generated 34.26 billion UAH, or 27% of the sector’s total revenue.

In particular, the Terra Food Group remains the largest in terms of revenue, generating 11.9 billion hryvnias through its key enterprises.

The ‘Dairy Alliance’ group brings together key enterprises, including the Yahotyn Butter Factory, the Pyriatyn Cheese Factory and the Zolotonosha Butter Processing Plant, which together generated 10.3 billion hryvnias in revenue in 2025. The group’s products are represented by the brands ‘Yagotynske’, ‘Pyriatyn’, ‘Zlatokray’ and others, and the company itself is also an active exporter.

The Danone Group, which operates two factories in Ukraine—including the Kremenchuk City Dairy Plant—generated revenue of 8.06 billion hryvnias in 2025. Meanwhile, the Danone Dnipro factory is currently closed.

The French group Lactalis, known for brands such as President, Galbani, Lactel and others, is represented by the companies ‘Lactalis-Mykolaiv’ and ‘Molochny Dom’, which together generated revenue of around 4 billion hryvnias.

Exports as a driver of growth

Despite the positive trend, milk production is outstripping domestic demand, prompting companies to expand more actively into foreign markets.

Exports are expected to be the key driver of further growth in the dairy sector in 2026.
