Deliveries of raw milk for industrial processing in September 2026 were the lowest this year, while the purchase price of raw milk from commercial dairy farms reached a 2026 high, the official website of the Union of Dairy Enterprises of Ukraine reports.

The analysis was prepared by the UDEU Expert and Analytical Service based on data from the State Statistics Service of Ukraine (Derzhstat).

Key points:

  • only 301,000 tonnes of raw milk were delivered for industrial processing in September, the lowest in 2026;
  • deliveries have fallen for five consecutive months, since May, when more than 335,000 tonnes were delivered;
  • in the first nine months of 2026, almost 2.83 million tonnes of raw milk were delivered for processing;
  • the purchase price of raw milk from commercial dairy farms rose to UAH 15.3/kg in September, the highest in 2026.

Total deliveries

According to Derzhstat, total raw milk deliveries for industrial processing in September were the lowest in 2026 (taking into account February volumes adjusted to a full month), at just 301,000 tonnes.

Deliveries have declined for the fifth consecutive month, since May, when more than 335,000 tonnes were delivered. September deliveries fell 3.2% from August and 4.4% from July.

In the first nine months of 2026, almost 2.83 million tonnes of raw milk (on a domestic basis) were delivered for industrial processing, 4.3% more than in the same period of 2025. However, this year’s growth rate lags far behind last year’s (4.3% vs 12.1%).

Deliveries from commercial dairy farms

Commercial dairy farms delivered 263,000 tonnes of raw milk for processing in September (87.5% of the total), the lowest monthly figure in 2026 (taking into account February volumes adjusted to a full month).

Their deliveries have fallen for the fifth consecutive month, since May, when they supplied more than 288,000 tonnes. In September, deliveries from commercial farms fell 3.2% from August and 3.8% from July.

In the first nine months of 2026, commercial dairy farms delivered more than 2.47 million tonnes of raw milk for processing (87.4% of the total), 4.9% more than a year earlier. Last year, however, their deliveries grew 7.6% over the same period, so this year’s growth rate is lower.

Deliveries from household farms

Raw milk deliveries for processing from household farms totalled 0.14 million tonnes in the first nine months of 2026, significantly below the same period last year (almost 0.16 million tonnes; −11%).

A further almost 0.22 million tonnes came in January – September 2026 from intermediaries, who mostly buy raw milk from household farms as well. In January – September 2025, intermediaries supplied about 0.20 million tonnes, so their volumes rose by more than 10% this year.

Purchase prices

The purchase price of raw milk from commercial dairy farms rose to UAH 15.3/kg (on a domestic basis) in September, the highest in 2026. That is more than 8.2% above July (UAH 14.15/kg) and 12% above February, when prices hit their 2026 low.

The price has now approached its December 2025 level and, according to UDEU estimates, will approach the November 2025 level in October.

The average purchase price of raw milk from commercial dairy farms in Q4 2026 will most likely exceed the Q4 2025 average, meaning dairy processors will have to work with higher raw milk prices than a year earlier.
