EU membership is also about new opportunities for Ukrainian business — access to the single European market and the ability to compete and grow on equal terms with EU companies. As the UDEU European Integration Committee reports, Elisabeth Svyatkivska has become the subject of a new episode of the joint Ukraine2EU campaign.

“Faces of European Integration” is a joint campaign by Ukraine2EU and the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, highlighting the people and decisions bringing Ukraine closer to EU membership.

Elisabeth Svyatkivska, coordinator of the European Integration Committee of the Union of Dairy Enterprises of Ukraine (UDEU), explains how Ukraine’s dairy sector is already preparing for future EU membership. Over the past year and a half, business representatives, government officials, and international experts have worked together on a Dairy Sector Eurointegration Roadmap — a strategic plan to help the sector meet European standards and be ready to operate in the EU’s internal market.

“European integration for business is about being ready to seize the opportunities that open up as Ukraine joins the EU, and to become a full participant in the single European market,” she says.
