According to Milknews.ru, the EkoNiva Group has begun exporting skim milk powder (SMP) to overseas markets, including the United Arab Emirates and Algeria.

The first shipment of SMP, totaling 50 tonnes, was delivered to the UAE in October last year. In early February 2026, the company completed its second maritime shipment to the country. EkoNiva notes that it plans to establish regular deliveries and increase export volumes in the near future. Negotiations are also underway with partners regarding potential shipments to Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

Exports of SMP to Algeria began in early February 2026. The first batch is intended for a local manufacturer of finished dairy products. Preparations are currently underway for a larger follow-up shipment, and the company plans to organize regular exports to the country in the future.

Shipments to the UAE and Algeria are transported by sea. One of the advantages of skim milk powder as an export product is that it does not require special transport conditions, including temperature control.

SMP is widely used in the production of ice cream, sour cream, cheese, and yogurts, and is also an important ingredient in infant nutrition.

EkoNiva first tested SMP exports in 2023 with a shipment to Kazakhstan. In 2024, regular deliveries began to Georgia and Armenia. Since 2025, the company has been actively working to expand into more distant international markets.

At the same time, The Union of Dairy Enterprises of Ukraine, with the support of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection and the Embassy of Ukraine in Algeria, is actively working to open the Algerian market for Ukrainian dairy products.
