According to the industry publication Dairy Foods, Lifeway Foods has announced the launch of a new product — Probiotic Kefir Butter.
This is a European-style kefir butter with probiotics, featuring a soft, spreadable texture. The product is made through hand churning and will be sold in packages weighing approximately 227 g. The range will include three flavors: unsalted, with sea salt, and with honey.
The company notes that consumers are increasingly interested in fermented products and high-quality full-fat dairy products. This trend became the basis for combining butter and kefir in a single product.
For retailers, butter remains a popular category that sells well and helps diversify the refrigerated display assortment.
Probiotic Kefir Butter is expected to appear in selected retail chains and foodservice establishments starting in 2026. The company plans to release more detailed information on the sales launch closer to the rollout.
Lifeway Foods emphasizes that interest in butter is returning, and the new product combines traditional taste with modern dietary trends.
