A delegation of Ukrainian dairy producers and processors, currently studying the Dutch model of the dairy sector, visited the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality of the Netherlands. The guests were welcomed by Ralph van de Beek, Director for International Relations, and Julius Seinen, Policy Advisor. The discussion was substantial and genuinely open.
The delegation then moved on to meetings with key national dairy institutions: ZuivelNL/NZO and LTO.
ZuivelNL is a neutral platform that brings together the entire dairy supply chain and provides a space for agreements, shared rules, and financing mechanisms. It was established in 2014 by the farmers’ association LTO and the dairy processors’ association NZO.
NZO is the Dutch Dairy Industry Association, representing the interests of thirteen dairy companies. Together these companies process 98 percent of the milk in the Netherlands and produce a wide range of dairy products.
LTO is the Netherlands Agricultural and Horticultural Association. It represents the interests of farmers and maintains direct contact with around fourteen thousand dairy farms, working to balance economic sustainability with environmental and social challenges.
Members of the Ukrainian delegation, representing the Union of Dairy Enterprises of Ukraine, the Association of Milk Producers, and the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club, gained valuable insight into how cooperation between milk producers and processors is built in the Netherlands. Presentations by Tjitske Bolt (ZuivelNL/NZO), Wilco Brouwer-de Koning, and Colinda van Ries (LTO) were filled with practical insights that can form a foundation for developing partnership models in Ukraine.
The Union of Dairy Enterprises of Ukraine, together with representatives of dairy processing companies including Galychyna Dairy Company, Radyvylivmoloko, Molokia, BiAgr, KOMO, Terrafud, Ukrproduct, Proviant Group, and Pravio, expressed sincere gratitude to their Dutch colleagues for the open dialogue and warm hospitality.
