Today, 1 October, is the day the whole country thanks those who defend our land, our industry, and our right to a glass of Ukrainian milk on the table every morning.
Today, 1 October, Ukraine marks the Day of Defenders of Ukraine — and the UAdairy.org team is glad to join in.
The dairy industry knows the value of defence better than most. For a fourth year running, Ukrainian farmers milk their cows through air-raid alerts, processors keep production running under shelling, and logistics teams drive milk along roads where every trip carries risk. None of it would be possible without those standing on the front line right now, giving us the right to work, to build, and to live.
Among the defenders are former and current workers of dairy farms, processing plants and logistics companies across the industry — people who only yesterday were tending cattle or standing at a production line, and today are holding the front. We remember every one of them.
Thank you to the servicemen and women, to the veterans, to the families who wait and support, and to everyone defending Ukraine — whether with a weapon in hand or at their post in the rear. Without your courage, there would be no industry, no publication, and no tomorrow for any of us.
